Gebeya training is specifically designed to meet both the need of the aspiring Afrikan software engineering and IT professionals and the demanding enterprises requiring the best. The Digital Gender Ethiopia Program was initiated with the intention of increasing the number of Female Software Engineers in the country. This is to be achieved through the collaborative efforts of Gebeya and IFC by providing a full scholarship to train 250 female software engineers and support 20 female digital entrepreneurs. Gebeya will offer training in Mobile Application Engineering, Backend Engineering, Front-End Engineering, DevOps Engineering, UX-UI, and IT Business Analysis to prepare participants for the demands of global markets. The training will be provided for a 4 to 6 month period where the participants must either be located or a resident of Addis Ababa for the complete period of each cohort.
The main objective of the core training is to have a pipeline of developers that can further qualify for the Gebeya Professional training. With this opportunity, we are opening our doors to a wider group of people who want to be developers but don’t have the right qualifications or the means to be so . Once trainees finish the core training they will be able to take on and shine in the professional and specialized trainings. With the professional training, we are creating a new type of employee market, linking highly trained tech professionals with the employers who seek them.
