Digital Learning Program

How does the application process work?

  • Acceptance into the program is a 4-step process
    • After submitting your application you will get an acknowledgement receipt via email from the Gebeya team.
    • Your application will be put into a screening process queue for a thorough and diligent review.
    • Within one week you will receive an acceptance or denial decision status of phase 1 of the application process. If accepted, you will be asked to complete online aptitude tests and submit an interview video.
    • After the interview you will get a final acceptance or denial into the Gebeya program. If accepted, you will receive a welcome and orientation package.

Eligibility and Qualification

  • Digital Learning Program: This program was initiated to enhance the engagement of software engineers and digital entrepreneurs at the same time giving special attention to increasing more women in Ethiopia in the areas of STEM (Science,Technology, Engineering, Mathematics). Unlike the previous round, the program is now open to both male and female applicants who are eligible.
  • Tuition and Scholarship: Your tuition, ETB 44,000, will be automatically covered by a full scholarship funded by International Finance Corporation. This is made possible by the funding that Gebeya received from International Finance Corporation to promote the contribution of software engineers to Ethiopia’s innovation.
  • Gebeya and Microsoft have entered into a partnership to provide original Microsoft content and certification to trainees, upon completion of the program and successful passing of tests.
  • Each cohort of the Digital Learning Program will be offered for a 3 to 4 month period only in Ethiopia. Applicants must be residents of/ located in Ethiopia, and have access to their own computer and stable internet connection. Please note that training will be delivered online ONLY.
  • Gebeya will be offering:
    • Azure Security Engineer
    • Cross - Platform Mobile Application & Development
    • Cross Platform Mobile Application Developer & AI Associate
    • Data Engineer
    • DevOps Engineer
    • Power Platform
    through the Digital Learning Program.
    To qualify for one of these courses, applicants must have a degree in Engineering and/or related fields, Business Administration and Information System (BAIS), Computer Science and/or IT fields and Mathematics with a thorough understanding of IT.
  • For applicants who don’t have a degree in the fields mentioned in the above paragraph, they will be considered qualified for the program if they possess a strong programming background or an extensive practical experience of at least 2 years in an IT field.
